Cherry Drulis, director of Samsung's healthcare mobile B2B, tells MobiHealthNews about her upcoming 2026 HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition in March, where she and Rich Brancaccio, senior director of product development of Revibe and Innovation at Pearson, will discuss the partners' work on Revibe, an AI-enabled wearable that leverages Samsung's hardware to deliver personalized vibration and text reminders aimed at enhancing focus and attention.
MobiHealthNews: Can you tell our audience about Samsung and Pearson's partnership?
Cherry Drulis: The partnership focuses on leveraging technology to enhance educational experiences and support individuals facing challenges with focus and attention. A key example is Revibe, an AI-enabled wearable solution designed to help individuals build skills in focus, attention and self-regulation.
By integrating Samsung's innovative devices and platforms with Pearson's educational content and expertise, the collaboration aims to create immersive and personalized learning solutions. This partnership seeks to empower educators and students with tools that facilitate better engagement, accessibility and outcomes in the digital learning environment.
MHN: How can wearables, in particular, assist individuals with attention and focus challenges?
Drulis: Wearables, such as smartwatches and fitness trackers, can assist individuals with attention and focus challenges by providing real-time feedback and reminders. Revibe, for example, uses gentle vibration prompts at customizable intervals to help users stay on task and refocus when their attention drifts.
Wearables can also monitor physiological indicators like heart rate variability to detect stress or fatigue, prompting users to take breaks or practice mindfulness. Additionally, features like focus timers, notifications management and guided breathing exercises can help users maintain concentration and manage distractions effectively.
MHN: What do you hope the audience learns from this talk?
Drulis: I hope the audience gains insights into how technology, particularly wearables, and collaborative partnerships can address attention and focus challenges. I aim to highlight the importance of integrating innovative solutions into daily life to improve productivity and well-being. Additionally, I want the audience to understand the potential of cross-industry collaborations, such as the Samsung-Pearson partnership, in driving meaningful advancements in education and beyond.
Cherry Drulis' session "How innovative technology is empowering and impacting lives, all from their watch" is scheduled for Tuesday, March 10th, from 2:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. in Murano 3301A I Level 3 at HIMSS26 in Las Vegas.
